Jade’s 10k London Winter Run

Congratulations to Jade Sullivan, Positive’s Sales and Marketing Executive, who completed her first 10k challenge on Sunday 3rd February at the Cancer Research UK London Winter Run. 

Jade has raised a whopping £615.00 for Cancer Research UK so far, 246% over her original fundraising target.

The Cancer Research UK London Winter Run is a 10k race through the heart of the city, passing world famous landmarks and instantly recognisable areas that have been taken over by winter creatures.

Since the first event in 2015 over 65,000 people have taken part, raising over £2,000,000 for Cancer Research UK and other good causes.

This year’s race started in Trafalgar Square and finished on Whitehall by Downing Street.  Jade completed her run in just 53 minutes and finished in the top 5,000 runners, out of 23,000 competitors.

To launch our Positive Academy and continue to grow our business, we are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team as a Studio Trainee.

Using state of the art technology, Positive provide a full range of Print, Direct Mail, Web2Print and Multichannel Marketing Solutions.

The successful candidate will primarily work within the Direct Mail, Data, Online Ordering Portal and Multichannel processes. They will also be trained for artworking and digital printing.

This position requires an active learning and can do attitude, Microsoft office skills, excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff.

Key Responsibilities – 3 Year Traineeship:

  • Online ordering websites: Full build creation and processing of deployments for the production of print, fulfilment and dispatch.
  • Multichannel Marketing: Full build creation and processing of deployments for Direct anddigital marketing, e.g. social media, email, mobile marketing and direct mail.
  • Direct Mail: Data processing and digital printing.
  • Studio: Artworking and print output.

Skills & Competencies Required:

  • Critical thinker with the ability to actively learn quickly.
  • Engaged, bubbly, positive personality with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • A working knowledge of MS Excel (experience of Mac’s and Adobe would be an advantage).
  • Excellent attention to detail.

Qualifications

  • Grade C (or equivalent) in GSCE English & Maths (essential).

Positive inspires the next generation

On Friday 21st September Positive hosted an educational visit for 10 A Level Product Design students.

The students from Glenthorne High School, an outstanding National Teaching School with a specialism in the Arts, wanted to learn about paper printing and finishing techniques.

Danny Sullivan, Managing Director and Sarah Carter, Sales Manager gave the group a detailed tour of Positive’s services, which included:

  1. Sales & Key Account Management
  2. Design & Studio
  3. Digital Printing
  4. Large Format Printing
  5. Lithographic Printing
  6. Finishing
  7. Direct Mailing
  8. Dispatch

Danny Sullivan said “We really enjoyed having the students visit.  We are very keen to inspire the next generation and are planning several workshops for next year”.

Each student received a pack containing a variety of samples of different printing elements, substrates and finishes.

Our story began back in 1989 when Danny’s father set up Solo Print.  Danny joined the company back in 1993 and the business became Positive Images.

The company grew from strength to strength and now boasts a 12,000 square foot Surrey factory, a London sales office and a number of high profile clients.

Today we are known as Positive.  We continue to be at the forefront of innovation and earlier this year launched our new multichannel marketing service.

We first achieved the internationally recognised ISO 9001 & ISO 27001 accreditations back in 2016 following an independent assessment by the British Assessment Bureau.

The annual Positive Golf Day was held on Friday 11th May at the beautiful Burhill Golf Club in Surrey.

Over 20 clients and suppliers took part in the competition, which is now in its sixth year.

Positive Multichannel Launch

Positive launches new Multichannel Service

Positive has added data-driven multichannel marketing automation to its portfolio of services, in order to provide streamlined solutions for marketing journeys.

The Surrey based firm already offers Web2Print online ordering portals alongside digital, lithographic, large format and direct mail services.

Managing Director, Danny Sullivan said “We are delighted to launch our new multichannel service.  The service will enable us to offer complete campaign solutions to our clients, rather than just the print and direct mail elements, which is what they really need”.

Positive’s new service creates highly personalised campaigns that use data to join up and personalise the entire marketing journey, including print, web, email, mobile and even social media.

“Besides being tremendously easy to use, one of the major benefits of the service is that it allows our customers to integrate highly targeted direct mail into their digital strategy.

With the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) coming into force on 25th May 2018 the timing couldn’t be better.

Positive, which is set to celebrate its 25th birthday this year, has a turnover of £2m and employs 20 people.

“We’ve been so busy we are now recruiting a New Business Manager to grow our new and exciting multichannel service”, Sullivan added.
